Paul has dealt with the sesusal sins of the\u00a0flesh that cause\u00a0great alarm when we hear of them in the church.\u00a0He now looks at the social\u00a0sins that do not alarm us when we find them present and accounted\u00a0for in our live. The text tells us that we as God&#8217;s people are commanded<em><strong> to put them off<\/strong><\/em>. The phrase is used of\u00a0one\u00a0who is\u00a0changing his clothes. The clothes he is to change is the grave clothes\u00a0of the old life\u00a0and put on the new man of\u00a0Christ. When Christ arose he left the grave clothes\u00a0behind. When Lazarus arose, Christ said to those around him,\u00a0loose him and let him\u00a0go. The process of taking off the old and living in the new is a lifelong project.
