He begins this section in verse 12a, with the phrase<em><strong> put on.<\/strong><\/em> This is the third time it is used. God is leaving the mark of the triune Godhead on our changed lives.\u00a0As the<em><strong> old man was known by the rags of his\u00a0habits<\/strong><\/em> may the<em><strong>\u00a0new man be known by the robes of his Holiness<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0He calls us\u00a0who have a new man <em><strong>the elect of God<\/strong><\/em>. Many of our day\u00a0hate that biblical term. It means to prefer one over another. It means to pick out\u00a0from a\u00a0group. Moses said He didn&#8217;t choose Israel because they were greater in number because they were the fewest of all people.\u00a0He\u00a0chose them simply because He loved them.
