It is in these verses\u00a0we find that <em><strong>God is holy<\/strong><\/em>. The name <strong>Gomer means a complete failure<\/strong>.\u00a0Oh, how we are complete failures without Jesus our Hosea. In the text God shows his Holiness by confronting Gomer and we the people of God with<em><strong> three sins<\/strong><\/em>. In\u00a02:5 she is accused of <em><strong>idolatry<\/strong><\/em> when she claims that\u00a0all her provision\u00a0came from her loves. Let us be careful of putting anything above God as our source of provision. In verses 2:5-9 there is the\u00a0sin of being<em><strong> unthankful<\/strong><\/em>. Instead of thanking God for her privation she looked to the\u00a0gods of this world. The Lord says in verse nine I will come and take all back that I have given you. In\u00a02:10-13 we see\u00a0the sin\u00a0of being a<em><strong>\u00a0hypocrite<\/strong><\/em>. All the things her lovers gave her God will destroy leaving her an embarrassed\u00a0hypocrite.
