Israel is referred to in verse eight\u00a0as<strong><em>\u00a0a cake\u00a0not turned<\/em><\/strong>. In verse six <strong><em>the baker has fallen asleep with\u00a0apathy<\/em><\/strong>.The\u00a0cake is not turned and because of this it is<strong><em> burnt on one side and half done on the other side<\/em><\/strong>. They have mixed themselves with the world in verse eight and are not worth anything but to be thrown out as a half-baked cake. Let us at the church be careful not to be in the sleep of apathy. Let us be sober and on guard lest we find ourselves mixing with the world and worth nothing in our effectiveness\u00a0and become\u00a0as a cake to be thrown out.
