It is here God deals with three of\u00a0Israel\u00a0arch enemies. In verses six God deals with<strong><em> Gaza<\/em><\/strong>. Gaza is the principal city of\u00a0 Philistia. Amos mentions three other prominent town <strong><em>Ashdod, Askelon, and Ekron<\/em><\/strong>. Remember from the Bible that\u00a0Philistia has been an enemy of God&#8217;s people pre Goliath day. The phrase for three transgressions and\u00a0for four\u00a0once again is mentioned. Gaza\u00a0 and the Philistine\u00a0nation has crossed God&#8217;s mercy line. In\u00a02 Chronicles 21 we are told the Philistines ravished a city and sold its people to the\u00a0Edomites and because of it God\u00a0issues a decimation decree on the\u00a0Philistine population. <strong><em>T<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>o mess with God&#8217;s people\u00a0 Israel are the redeemed is a very dangerous thing<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let us in the\u00a0muse today from\u00a0Amos 1:6-8 and a\u00a0section I have entitled God&#8217;s vengeance.
