Let us to muse today from Amos 3:1b\u00a0an a section I have entitled God’s call<\/em><\/strong>. We have looked already at an edifying call. <\/em><\/strong>Today I want us to see God’s call is an effectual call<\/em><\/strong>. Amos tells us in verse one that God has delivered Israel from Egypt over the Red Sea through the blood of the Passover lamb. The blood that Christ shed on the cross was with purpose. He did not spill his blood, but poured it\u00a0out with purpose. He did not die to make salvation possible, but he died to make salvation\u00a0sure for his people. He didn’t\u00a0die hoping somebody would\u00a0get saved, but he died knowing who would be saved. Suppose He would have died and nobody would have taken His offer would He not have had egg on His face. We give a general call, ho everyone who is thirsty, whosoever will[ let him come.\u00a0His call is an effectual call. Those He calls will come. All that the Father has given to Him, cometh to Him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
