The sin I\u00a0desire to look at today is <strong><em>obstinacy<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong><em>The word means stubborn and stiff neck<\/em><\/strong>. On five different occasions the Lord says,<strong><em> you have not yet\u00a0returned to me.(<\/em><\/strong>4:6, 8, 9, 10, and 11) This phrase was used after harsh judgment from the Lord. In 4:6a because their teeth were clean and they had nothing to eat. He sent drought\u00a0in 4:7-8 sovereign to different parts of the area. In\u00a04:9 God destroyed the crops. In the 4:10a\u00a0He sent\u00a0sickness of which he promised not to send if they only obey. In\u00a04:10b \u00a0God sent\u00a0defeat in war. In 4:11 God\u00a0sent catastrophe\u00a0yet they\u00a0return not to\u00a0the Lord. In 4:12-13 there was the ultimate judgment when God said\u00a0O Israel\u00a0prepared to meet your God.
