The word woe is a word of warning to stop\u00a0one in their tracks and\u00a0cause their attention to be turned toward the Lord. The first woe is mentioned in the 5: 18-27 and it is <strong><em>a woe to the simple<\/em><\/strong>. Seems the people of Amos day were desiring for the\u00a0day of the Lord. They only\u00a0saw it is a time when they would be on the top\u00a0and their enemies on the bottom. I wonder how many in the church today see the Lord&#8217;s return with no thought of what they&#8217;re wishing for. I noticed\u00a0Amos remands\u00a0them this day will be<strong><em> a day of dispare <\/em><\/strong>seen in 5:18. Do we not know that we will be taken out of this world to stand before the Lord and give an account of everything we have done. In 18b and 20 I see Amos tells us it will be<strong><em> a day of darkness<\/em><\/strong>. We are told in verse 17 the Lord will not pass over the land, but through the land. I see in verse 19 Amos reminds us it will be <strong><em>a day of doom<\/em><\/strong>. This day of the Lord will begin the day of judgment for many of my friends and family. Let us not be quick to pray thy kingdom come\u00a0unless we are sure we are ready to meet the Lord face-to-face now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let us begin to muse from Amos\u00a05:18-6:14 and a section I have entitled the woes of God.
