Surely Amos being a farmer himself was struck with the burden to pray when he heard what was coming. He began to struggle with God in prayer and God’s stayed His hand and did not send the locusts. It is here that Amos joined the family of the great intercessor of the Bible. Let us not think God has changed his mind. The Bible says God changes not. I believe through intercessory prayer Amos found out what God wanted to do and enter into God’s will in prayer. Let us be careful in making our wants and wishes known to God. Let us instead lift up the blank slate to find out what God wants and what God wishes are.
