God has told Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach the gospel. He boards a ship for\u00a0 Tarshish.\u00a0 Nineveh was at the furthest\u00a0Eastern point of the new world while\u00a0Tarshish\u00a0was at the furthest western point of the new world. In verse three we are told that he was fleeing from <strong><em>the presence of the Lord<\/em><\/strong>. The word presence means the face of God. It is used three times in verse 3 two\u00a0times and once in\u00a0verse\u00a010.\u00a0Three is the number for the Trinity. Can you imagine us trying to get away from the all-knowing,\u00a0all-seeing eye\u00a0of the triune God head.
