When the men asked Jonah what should be done to calm the sea, he said I am\u00a0a Hebrew and one that fears the God of heaven. We know that this\u00a0was but religious talk. If he really believed in the God of heaven he would have told\u00a0the captain I need to get back to Nineveh, take me to the nearest port so I can get a ship going back to were the God of heaven, the sea, and dryland told me to go. Instead he tells them to cast him into the sea. In his stubbornness he is telling the God of heaven I would rather\u00a0die than\u00a0do what you want me to.\u00a0Die he will, Jesus tells us in the gospels that Jonah was three days and nights in the depths as He will be three days and nights in the grave.\u00a0God always has the remedy for\u00a0our stubborn ways.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let us muse today from Jonah 1:11-14 and Jonah&#8217;s stubbornness.
