{"id":2066,"date":"2011-04-10T09:29:48","date_gmt":"2011-04-10T09:29:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tomgilliam.wordpress.com\/?p=2066"},"modified":"2023-09-01T00:27:34","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T00:27:34","slug":"micahs-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomgilliam.com\/?p=2066","title":{"rendered":"Micah&#8217;s Message"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Let us begin to muse today from Micah 1: 1-5 and one of\u00a0 <strong><em>Micah&#8217;s three \u00a0messages for Judah<\/em><\/strong>. The first message I would entitle <strong><em>a perception of doom<\/em><\/strong>. In verses one through five of this message I see <strong><em>a declaration of doom.<\/em><\/strong> Micah says that God steps\u00a0from the edge\u00a0of His holy temple in verse two and comes as a judge, jury, witness, and executioner. In verse three we are told that God <strong><em>comes forth\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0The phrase means to come to do battle. God opens the court room and\u00a0declares war on Judah. He points a finger at His two enemies Samaria the great capital of the North and Jerusalem the great capital of Judah in the South. It seems like these two divided kingdoms never learned, but continue to repeat their history. How long before we as a nation, individual, or church learn that God is a jealous God and will not share us with the world. Micah has\u00a0eyed doom on \u00a0the horizon. <strong><em>Do you and I\u00a0have enough spiritual sense to see that\u00a0doom is headed our way?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let us begin to muse today from Micah 1: 1-5 and one of\u00a0 Micah&#8217;s three \u00a0messages for Judah.
