This is a place well-known\u00a0to Israel. Rachel Jacob&#8217;s favorite wife is buried there. Ruth met Boaz the kinsman Redeemer there. David Israel&#8217;s greatest son was born there. Instead of repenting\u00a0of their\u00a0sins and looking for the Messiah King\u00a0to come from Bethlehem they went on their way in darkness. When the Lord tells us ahead of time what is to happen it is not for\u00a0entertainment\u00a0to the curious, but\u00a0it is encouragement for the serious. So much today that is of a warning to us\u00a0 that a King\u00a0is coming, but we seem to just go on as if it will never happen.
