Jonah preached a revival to Nineveh but\u00a0now Nahum proclaims their\u00a0ruined. Nahum calls this both a burden and a vision. These two words describe what God had ordained\u00a0for Nahum\u00a0to see as well as feel. We have already found that God is in Judah. We now find from\u00a0Nahum 1:2\u00a0that <strong><em>God is jealous<\/em><\/strong>. The word often describes\u00a0a sin of\u00a0one who\u00a0is envious over what others possess. It is here that it means to cherish a relationship\u00a0and seek to protect it. An example would be a husband-and-wife who\u00a0cherish their relationship and seek to protect it. God cherishes His relationship with His\u00a0people and has had enough of the Aysrian treatment of them.
