We have looked thus far at <strong><em>the preface of favour and a prediction of the fall.<\/em><\/strong> Today let us begin to examine <strong><em>the pattern\u00a0of the fall<\/em><\/strong>. In verse one of our\u00a0text you can almost hear the cries of the Army captains in Nineveh preparing the troops for a great battle. In 612 BC the\u00a0Meades and the Babylonians joined forces and invaded Nineveh. God assures the nation of Israel in verse two that victory over Nineveh is sure. In verse three shortly after entering the\u00a0city the shields and clothing of the soldiers are red with blood. The chariots of the conquering army in verse four cannot be stop.
