Many asked what will the day of the Lord be like? In this text Zephaniah takes three happenings from Jewish history to describe what it will be like. In 1:1-7 he\u00a0tells us the day of the Lord will be like<strong><em> the\u00a0devastating flood<\/em><\/strong>. In verse two the word <strong><em>consume<\/em><\/strong> means to\u00a0sweep all away completely. These verses are probably a reference to\u00a0Noah&#8217;s flood\u00a0when God removed all living things\u00a0from the earth\u00a0that were not safe in the ark. He probably sent around 3 billion people\u00a0to hell with\u00a0their clothes on. This is but a snapshot of the final day of the Lord.
