Let us muse today from chapter 8\u00a0and the subject of God’s answer about fasting<\/em><\/strong>. In verses 1-19 God tells them clearly the reason why their fast had become merely a burden, a chore, and a religious duty was because He had never ordained them. The four annual feast that they commemorated with a fast of remembrance were days when horrible things\u00a0had happen but God never called for the fast. In verse 14 we find that there calamities have come\u00a0upon them because of their\u00a0failure to obey God’s Word. I wonder if\u00a0 celebration of\u00a0our tragic days\u00a0such as 911 have come upon us only because we failed God\u00a0in America and the tragedy was the price.May we turn our eyes to Him instead of the building of a higher tower.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
