In this section the prophet gives a parable about <strong><em>the bad Shepherd of that day and the good Shepherd<\/em><\/strong>. In verse seven the good Shepherd has a staff he calls beauty which is our word gracious and a staff he calls\u00a0bands which is our word for unity. In verse\u00a012 the people tell\u00a0the good Shepherd he\u00a0is only worth 30 pieces of silver to the them\u00a0which is the price of a slave. This is the price Judas was paid to betray the Lord and set up cross. The prophet&#8217;s parable of the Shepherd has him breaking the staffs and ceases being gracious and scatters the Jews\u00a0for they have no more unity<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let us muse today from Zechariah 11:1-14\u00a0and a section I have entitled the cross of the king.
