Our text today tells us of <strong><em>the means of operation<\/em><\/strong>. The word through speaks of a means of operation and Peter tells us that the means is our Lord. Peter tells us this knowledge comes through a call. This is not the general call of\u00a0salvation that is given to everyone when we say ho anyone who is thirsty let him come, whosoever will let them come. This call is an effectual call issued by God alone to those He intends to save. This\u00a0was the call issued to Lazarus in the grave and\u00a0Zacchaeus\u00a0 up at tree. Their response was they immediately came to Him.
