The word promise means an announcement that comes near giving one rest in their soul. The word precious means rare, valuable beyond calculation. The words exceeding great means the greatest of all and most important of the promises. Peter says the promise\u00a0I am\u00a0fixing to share is valuable beyond calculation, it will come alongside and give you rest, and it is the most important of all God&#8217;s promise.
