Our text has told us much about what is ours because Christ dwells in us. We see today there is the<strong><em> promise of divine preservation<\/em><\/strong>. We are told in verse\u00a010 of a <strong><em>sure call<\/em> <\/strong>when we are told to make our calling and election sure. This is not the general call everyone gets but the effectual call that only the\u00a0elect get. We are told in verse 10 of a <strong><em>sure continuance<\/em><\/strong>. If we have heard\u00a0the sure call of\u00a0election we shall never fall. David Brainerd a few moments before his death asked to be alone. What could such a holy man need to do?
