It is here that Paul uses his prison as a pulpit to proclaim the gospel. May we take our circumstances of life no matter how binding to tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love. In verse 27 I see the message of conversation. In 27a there is an unusual conversation. The word conversation is not ones talk but his walk or behavior. Paul’s message was that his behavior be that which becomes the gospel. The word becometh means comparable in likeness. It is one thing to believe the gospel it is another thing to live the gospel. Paul wanted his response to prison to be to others that he was living, death to self, burial of what he wanted, and raised to walk like Christ. I see in verse 27b an unified conversation. Paul wanted to see through his message fruit in the church at Philippi. He wanted the fruit of them standing fast in one spirit. To have a spirit of unity all must center around Christ. He wanted to see the fruit of one mind. All the affections set on Christ brings this mind. He wanted to see them striving together for the gospel. In most churches everyone is striving for his thing. Life is to short for such foolishness. Let us be about not just believing the gospel but living the gospel.

We continue to muse on Philippians 1:27 today.
