Today&#8217;s text shows us<strong><em> John the Baptist&#8217;s audience<\/em><\/strong>. They came from everywhere to hear John&#8217;s message and to be baptize of him confessing their sins. We are seeing John being touched with the dew of heaven falling upon him with the first fruits of the words of the Gospel message. It was short-lived\u00a0for many felt him to be the Messiah.
