Our Lord brings to our attention today the subject of <strong><em>vain repetition and prayer<\/em><\/strong>. Let us not think we shall be heard for our much words. Let us not be as the Catholics praying the same statement over and over\u00a0while pushing beams on a rosary chain. The Christian and his prayer is not measured by the weight\u00a0of the length of his words\u00a0but is measured by the burden of his heart. God is not impress so much by long\u00a0prayers. Some of the greatest most moving prayers have been very short such as Peter&#8217;s prayer while drowning, Lord help me. Then there is the wordless prayer prayed by Nehemiah\u00a0in Nehemiah 2:4. God does not\u00a0want our prayer to be a conveying of information\u00a0for He knows\u00a0what we have need of\u00a0before we ask.
