In our text today our King deals with <strong><em>the prayer of repentance<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in the words forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors. I see in our text today that true prayer cannot be complete without the prayer of repentance. It is here that our Lord teaches us to pray not only for our individual sins but a\u00a0prayer of repentance for\u00a0the sins of others. How often do we pray for forgiveness for the sins of America? Then there is the recognition that I am to offer forgiveness to others even if they have not asked for it. The Lord had paid the price for\u00a0our sins and offered to us forgiveness\u00a0long before we asked for it.
