In our text for today we find a teaching\u00a0on the subject\u00a0of <strong><em>sacrificing the eternal\u00a0on the altar of the temporal.<\/em><\/strong> If we are to follow Jesus we must give up much of the temporal things of this life to have the gift of the eternal blessings of the Lord.
