Eagles Image

Let us muse today from Hosea 8:1-6 and the eagle’s image. The Lord says He will come upon the house of Israel like an eagle because they had transgressed my covenant and trespass against my law. The violation of the covenant is a spiritual sin we find in verse five and six where they set up calves in other places beside Jerusalem to worship. Oh the ideas man has developed today and  call it worship. The violation of the law was a political sin by men seen in verse four when they set up kings of their own choosing and not God’s. We have just had a national election. I wonder how many of these would have been the Lord’s choice. We might ought to keep a lookout for the eternal eagle to come and ravish our land.
